{Travel Diary} On the Rocks...

These photos were taken on my last night in Messolonghi, our hometown in Greece... My cousin and I decided to go to a nearby beach to catch the sunset and snap some quick pics, which turned out to be one of the windiest nights ever... And if you don't believe me, just look at my hair! 'Nuff said.

Saying goodbye to family is always so hard (we're a bunch of cry babies!), because we never really know when we'll see each other again... After all, it was seven years since my last visit! And since I'm not sure if I'll get to see my grandma again, it was especially hard to say goodbye to her, but hey, that's life.

All in all, it was an amazing trip, and I feel so fortunate to have made it back, even if for only such a short time... I want to thank my amazing cousins for taking my outfit pics (believe me, it wasn't easy with the extreme heat!), as well as those who followed along my trip via Twitter and Instagram  Your sweet comments meant so much! And as always, thanks to all of those who read my silly little blog daily, your support means more than you could ever know. xx

There's nothing quite like a series of random images to tell a story, so I thought it would be fun to share some snapshots from my travels with you guys. Everything from what I saw and ate, to what I did and with whom are fair game, and I hope this gives you guys a clearer picture of what I got up to in Greece... And speaking of clearer pictures, thanks for being so awesome, Instagram! You rock my world.

Stayed tuned this afternoon for my last Travel Diary entry... Until then! xx

{Travel Diary} Short Shorts...

I wore these shorts ad nauseum during my trip, because not only were they super cute and comfy, but the polka dots made them virtually irresistible to me... Be it day or night, these shorts were on and in a big way. They even made it to the top of a mountain, where they enjoyed a cool glass of beer under the stars... Talk about some traveling pants.

Happy Thursday! xx

{Travel Diary} Wardrobe Wednesday

Before leaving for my trip, I was lucky enough to be gifted this adorable polka dot bikini and oversized hat by La Vie En Rose... How cute are they? I wore both pieces a ton while I was away, and received many a compliment on the bikini (because really, who doesn't love polka dots?). Although I wasn't brave enough to take pics of me actually in the bathing suit, I figured this would be the next best thing... And the world shares a collective sigh of relief.

Happy Wardrobe Wednesday, lovelies! xx

{Travel Diary} Hot Hot Pink...

My grandparents were rural farmers, so every time I go back to Greece, I love visiting their now unused land. It's just so beautiful and serene, and it reminds me of a childhood spent playing amongst the reeds and corn stalks with my cousins. We always had so much fun picking fruit and pretending that the creek below held magical water nymphs that conspired to capture us... Smart kids.

Happy Tuesday, lovelies! xx

{Travel Diary} Green & Blue

Hello lovelies! I'm back from my travels, and although I wish I could have stayed in Greece with my family forever, it sure does feel good to be home... I missed you guys! Now we get to play catch up me with what went down during my trip and you guys with whatever you've been up to for the last two weeks... I'll go first.

My trip was amazing; I got to see family that I hadn't seen in (gasp!) seven years, eat all the delicious foods that I had missed oh-so much (including calamari, saganaki, real greek salad, fresh bread from the bakery and oh my God, the cheeses!), beach it up hard, revisit all my favourite spots in our hometown of Messolonghi (I was a bit of a party girl back in the day), and of course, spend time with my sweet grandma (yiayia!). She had good days and bad ones, but all in all, she seemed to be doing quite well thanks to everyone who sent well wishes her way, I really appreciate your guys' support!

The only negative, aside from having to leave? The heat. It was stinking hot everyday single day, and as someone more accustomed to cooler temperatures, I was miserable. My hair always looked poopy, my makeup constantly sweated off (gross) and I was forced to take up permanent residence in front of a fan between the hours of 12 and 4. Not pretty. That's why it's a miracle I was able to take outfit photos at all, and I'd like to send a special thank you to my beautiful cousins Vasianna and Marilia for patiently taking my photos... You guys deserve a medal or something for putting up with me.

OK, that's enough about me, what did you guys get up to? I want to hear everything... Spill!

Thanks for reading, and stayed tuned for more Greece-themed posts this week. xx
