Layers are a non-negotiable this time of year, but there's no reason not to spice them up with a little print-on-print (on-print-on-print) action. For me, that means stripes, plaid, houndstooth AND leopard, but hey, that's just how I roll. And even though it may sound like a seizure-inducing hot mess on paper, the visual is far from it... Or so I like to tell myself.

It's no secret that sweatshirts have become my go -to this season � in fact, they've creeped up in outfit posts at a rate that would have alarmed 2010 Vickie. That's right my friends, only a few short years ago I would have turned my nose up at such items, scoffing at the very idea that sweatshirts could even remotely be a thing... Boy was past Vickie wrong! Now my collection seems to be growing by the day (don't worry Mr. AiF, it's just a figure of speech), so I figured I would show you all my current faves, plus a few that I have my eye on... Hey, you can never have too much of a good thing, am I right?

Remember that trip to the mountains I referenced a couple weeks back? Well these photos were taken at the a lodge we were lucky enough to stay in. The weather was beautiful, the food and drink was plentiful, and we even saw our first fox, who was good enough to strike a pose for us... All in all, it was a good trip. And what's a good trip without proper attire, am I right? This plaid shirt/turtleneck combo screamed 'lodge-wear' to me, and when paired with a preppy blazer, it became the perfect hot-cocoa-by-the-doc, book-reading-by-the-fire look � Oh the power of fashion. xxPhotos by Andrew Tarver

Friday is finally here, which means Mr. AiF and I are off to a weekend in the mountains... A snowy, Christmas-themed getaway courtesy of the Edmonton Journal that encourages gorging on decadent foods and festive fun including � but not limited to � holiday crafts... Needless to say, we're pretty pumped. And if I don't succumb to a flock of feisty geese or an aggressive mink while I'm up there (hey, it happens), I'll see you guys back here on Monday.

The minute I saw the Sea of Shoes x ShoeMint collaboration, I knew I had to make them mine. Like, if there were a "yoink" button on my screen (future e-commerce peeps of the world take note), that's what I would have pressed. Since arriving in the mail on Monday, I've paraded around the house in them exactly 800 times (give or take) and dreamed up a lifetime of outfits to accompany them... I'm not obsessed or anything.
