I love soutache. Soutache is a narrow flat braid sewn in any shape to the surface of a garment. From men's mariachi trousers to details on 1910s-1950s clothing, this incredible technique, no matter how intricate or simple, adds the perfect amount of depth and texture to any garment. This technique is a good example that shows the importants of(normally overlooked) surface decoration is in the world of design.
